Nonprofit Director of Operations

Born in the Philippines, Stephanie Santos immigrated to the United States at age five and grew up on a houseboat in the Mississippi bayous. Armed with a Christian education and surrounded by teachers and mentors who challenged her, Stephanie knows her journey was shaped by the people who opened doors—and the determination to walk through them.

Service has been a constant throughout Stephanie's life. While building a 30-year corporate career in strategic communications, marketing, and community engagement, she volunteered with churches, veterans' organizations, and local nonprofits. As an American Red Cross volunteer, she interviewed veterans for the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, helping preserve their stories for future generations. Today, Stephanie serves as Nonprofit Director of Operations for The Onyx, helping transform a vision for stronger families and communities into meaningful programs, partnerships, and opportunities to serve.

She believes every person has God-given talents and that opportunity combined with personal effort can change the course of a life. Today, she’s helping build a community where those opportunities can take root.
